Andy Loce is a sports broadcaster who is living out his dream of working and covering some of the biggest events in the industry. His journey as a sports broadcaster and journalist began when he hosted sports talk shows at a young age with his friends in the garage. His career took a more serious turn when he landed his first internship in high school, covering sporting events in the Metro Richmond Area.
The next step in his sports broadcasting adventure came when he moved to Southwest Virginia, enrolled in Virginia Tech, and became a part of the fast-growing Sports Media and Analytics program. During his time in Blacksburg, Andy was a part of many clubs and organizations including the broadcast coordinator at 3304 Sports and the sports director at the college’s radio station, WUVT 90.7 FM Blacksburg. In 2022, Andy served his first season as a minor league baseball broadcaster with the Salem Red Sox, who are the Single-A affiliate of the Boston Red Sox.
Andy's latest title was the Athletic Communications Graduate Assistant at Lenoir-Rhyne University. In his role, he provided play-by-play broadcasting in basketball, baseball, and most olympic sports that the university has to offer. In addition to his broadcasting responsibilities, Andy also hosted a weekly coaches' show and acted as the main sports information contact for 11 LR athletic programs.
Those who have worked with Andy have praised his hard work, motivation and ability to help others. He wants his audience to be involved in the action and gain a full experience of the event. Whether that be learning the game, building a relationship with the players and team, or just the feeling as if you are sitting right next to him in the stadium, Andy wants to share his passion and enjoyment of sports with every fan.
